Introduction
WowStead is a perfect place to host your guild whether you're a web veteran or a technological novice. That's because WowStead gives you the power to deeply customize your guild site but is still quite easy to use. In fact, you can set up your guild site in only a few of steps. You could have a high quality guild site at your fingertips in just moments. So, let's begin...
Register
Before anything else, you will need a Curse account. If you already have an account, just login and proceed to the next step. If you do not, then just click "Register" in the top-right of the page.
For more details in setting up and account check out this guide [HERE]
After you have your account make sure you add one of your characters that's in the guild you are making the site for.

Getting Started
Finally, you can start the site creation process. Remember: you will be creating a site for the guild you
r active character is in. If you want to make a different character's guild's site, then you will need to switch to that character active. You can do this by going [HERE] and clicking the little circle with a star in it next tot he character you want active.
Once you have the correct character active, go [HERE] tot he main WowStead Site and click on the Create a new guild site button. This will start the process for you.
If your guild already has a site, it will say Take me to my guild site! instead.
Correct Guild
In the middle of the next page you will see in big yellow letters the name and realm of your guild. This will be the guild you are making the site for. If it is not correct do not continue. You will need to wait for the Armory and WowStead to sync with your in-game guild changes. The sync can take a few days to a week for the Armory and WowStead will update shortly after that. So if you just created a guild tonight there is a good chance this will be incorrect for you.
Next, is to choose the sub domain you want for your site. All guild sites must have a sub domain. This even includes those who are planning on using a domain. This will default a sub domain relating tot he guild's name you are creating the site for. You can use that one or choose another.
Customize
Your first option in customizing your site is the template. This is the layout of the site. There are currently four options and all four options are available to all site.
There are two and three column templates both with the navigation on the side or above the content area under the banner.
Your next options in the customization of your gui
ld site is to choose the skin you want. There's numerous skins to choose from and more to be added. Guild sites that are Premium will get the option to also choose some Premium only skins. Those are marked as Premium in the selection section.
You can always change these options later through your admin Control Panel if you change your mind on the layout or skin you want to use on your site.
Next, customization option you have is what modules (widgets) you want to display on your site.
You are given a number of chooses to choose from and depending on your template you will have 2 or 3 places you can place the widgets. The left navbar along the side shows up on all pages on all templates. The dashboard only shows on the home page of all sites. The right navbar only shows on 3 column templates and pages that are set to 2 column (example would be the forums).
You can drag and drop the modules where you want them or remove them if you change your mind. There is a restriction to which modules can go in the dashboard as well.
WowStead Premium & CurseVoice
If you thought WowStead was already great, then your jaw will drop when you get our premium package, because it comes with even more amazing features.
We offer two types of plans. Subscription, which is a reoccurring payment, but we also have it so you do not have to pay for this alone. You can choose the Group Plan to get you guild to help. By using the group plan, guild members can purchase tokens that will be used every month to keep your site premium. Sites that elect to not use the Subscription option are defaulted to the Group Plan - it is effectively free unless your guild chooses to contribute tokens!

You can choose for 1, 3, 6, or 12-month terms. If it couldn't get any better the 3, 6 and 12-month terms offer a discounted price saving you even more money.
Your next option will be Curse's Vent service, Curse-Voice. This is also a subscription or Group Plan options. If you wish not to use Curse-Voice you can check No Thank You.
You will have your order summary that will show your total if you chose subscription for either the hosting or Curse-Voice.
Your next step if you have subscription is to check out and pay. If you aren't doing a subscription than you will go to your guild site.
Your character will start out as the Site Creator. Deleting this role can result in you loosing your admin permissions. This role will give you access to the full breadth of your site's available features. As you guild's roster is synced from the WoWArmory, your guild mates' characters will be added to the site. Then, as they add those characters to their accounts, they will gain access to the guild site you've already created. WowStead automatically creates site roles for these users based on their roles in your guild. As Site Creator or Guild Master you can manage these roles' permissions to give them access to your site's features.
